Astaro Corporation Positioned in the Visionaries Quadrant for 2H07 Magic Quadrant for Enterprise Network Firewalls

Evaluation Based on Completeness of Vision and Ability to Execute.

Burlington, Mass., (November 29, 2007) – Astaro Corporation, a leading provider of Unified Threat Management (UTM) appliances, today announced it has been positioned by Gartner, Inc. in the visionaries quadrant in the ‘Magic Quadrant for Enterprise Network Firewalls, 2H07’ report.

"Gartner’s penetrating insight into the world of firewalling and what it means to the enterprise is an invaluable tool for companies needing to upgrade their security," said Astaro CEO Jan Hichert. "We believe that by identifying Astaro in the Visionaries Quadrant in this space, Gartner is conferring a real honor on our employees, who strive to push the firewalling envelope as far as possible in order to deliver the highest level of security possible to our customers."

According to Gartner, "Visionary vendors have the right designs and features for the enterprise, but they lack the sales base, strategy or financial means to compete with the leaders and challengers. Most visionary products have good NGFW capability but lack the performance capability and support network. Savings and high-touch support can be achieved for organizations willing to update products more frequently and switch vendors if required. Where firewalling is a competitive element for an enterprise, visionary vendors are good shortlist candidates."

"We are excited about the current position of our company in this highly competitive industry. We have experienced tremendous growth over the past seven years and are looking forward to further increasing the visibility of the Astaro brand and the number of networks our solutions protect", continued Hichert. "Astaro remains true to our goal of simplifying email, web and network protection and looks forward to continued success in 2008"

Astaro is a developer of an entire family of UTM Security Gateway appliances that integrate ten security technologies -- some open source, some commercial - that cover all aspects of security including network (firewall, SSL VPN and intrusion protection) Web security (spyware protection, virus protection for the Web and content filtering), e-mail security (virus protection for e-mail, spam protection, and phishing protection) and e-mail encryption.
