Astaro Appoints Andrew Fourie as Sales Director, UK and Ireland

Appointment demonstrates Astaro's continues focus and growth in the UK market.

Reading, UK (8th November, 2007) – Astaro Corporation (www.astaro.co.uk), a leader in delivering unified threat management (UTM) security appliances, today announced the appointment of Andrew Fourie as sales director, UK and Ireland. Fourie brings more than 12 years’ experience in IT security and sales to the company and will play a key role in driving sales and developing new market opportunities as the company broadens its channel network and UK customer base.
Fourie’s previous positions include Check Point Software Technologies, where he was sales director for the Enterprise Team. He joined Check Point with the acquisition of ZoneLabs, where, as UK and Ireland country manager, he was instrumental in growing the company’s EMEA business, creating significant growth in his market and helping to make it the strongest EMEA territory. Prior to joining ZoneLabs, Fourie held positions at Clearswift and Tumbleweed.

Fourie commented, "As a long-standing IT security professional, I have understood the direction in which the security market is developing. Over the last few years there has been a move away from pure point-solutions and growing demand for consolidated offerings. This change in demand is demonstrated by the acceleration of growth within the UTM market.
